Wired connected Mac Mini with RBR 750 has no internet connection
Hi,
My Mac Mini is connected via Ethernet to the RBR750 router and serves as a document server for our home network. All other devices can access it, whether they're connected wirelessly or by cable. However, the Mac Mini itself doesn’t have internet access through Ethernet. To update the system, I have to manually switch to Wi-Fi and disable the wired connection.
Interestingly, the Mac Mini is reachable by other devices over Ethernet, which suggests the issue might lie in the RBR750’s configuration. For reference, the Mac Mini uses a reserved IP address when connected via Ethernet, but obtains an IP through DHCP when using Wi-Fi.
I’ve reviewed the router settings multiple times but haven’t been able to pinpoint the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated—thanks!

Hi, I sent my question to Copilot.microsoft.com and got a list of Key Possibilities to investigate. The first one "IP Reservation vs. Static IP Conflict" fixed my problem. It turned out that the Mac Mini was accidently set to use Manually instead of DHCP, which messed up the DNS. After the correction, the Mac has the internet connection with ethernet cable. Thank you all for your help!

Is this "reserved" IP address (a) set on the Mac Mini itself (i.e. a "static IP") or (b) is it configured in the LAN setup table on the router?

The reserved IP is configured in the Lan setup table of the router RBR750. I assigned up to 192.168.1.20 for the reserved IP, and DHCP starts from 21. Thanks!

Contact Apple support for additional help in information regarding there products. If other devices are working and this one isn't, this one use needs to be looked at.

I still believe the issue was caused by some incorrect settings I configured on the RBR750. The Mac Mini isn't to blame. Thanks.

IP address reservations should be with in the DHCP IP address range. Any static IP addresses set on devices should be OUTSIDE of the DHCP IP Address range.
Glad you got it working. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.
