Solved

970 systen workig for months with no problems, now reboots i beleave every 24 hours or more

I have the router and 2 satellites
Working perfectly for almost a year until I swapped my iPhone 13 pro max to a samsung galaxy fold 6 (that I absolutely love)
After about 4 weeks with the fold (was working perfectly), i started to notice my alexa stops playing ambient noise sometime through the night and now I noticed the entire orbi system rebooted and my wife said it happened yesterday also

Before I go over the deep end
What is going on ???

Nothing else has changed
Is this a known issue?
I thought all this was resolved
I have the latest firmware, since it came out 2 to 3 months ago or so.

    Hi

I know it's been a while so here are the findings

I searched for others stating overheating as I found mine to be overheating , router that is overheating to touch.   The 2 satellites are a lot cooler.

I found the forum on here and some got fans as I did (i think you stated what fan to get and I did get it,TY. )

As soon as I put the fan on, I had no more reboots.   So after a week or so, I contacted Netgear and went through a bunch of crap , yah I get they are trying to make sure I did my troubleshooting but ....

    No fan it reboots

With fan = no more reboots

So they sent me a new router

I received it two days ago and sent the old back yesterday.

I really have to state the absolute truth

I can not believe how easy it was to restore my settings and the satellites  came right up, all without any factory reset..  I did powered off for a few minutes everything after everything was up and running.

I think the process took like 1/2 hour

I was just stunned how easy it went

All my netgear extended warranty and Armour moved over to the new router seamless.

I really have to say this system costs a boat load but has really performed very well

And armor has worked a lot better than I ever expected, warranty has worked out great ( though I did buy the extended warranty)

I think you have a fan on your main router but do you also put the fans on the satellites?

    TY

  • What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended.

Any additional features enabled on the RBR? Access Controls, Armor, SPC, IPv6 or Traffic meter?

    How many RBS are deployed?
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router 📡 and satellite(s)🛰️? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR 📡 and RBS 🛰️ to begin with depending upon building materials when wired or wirelessly connected.
    https://kb.netgear.com/31029/Where-should-I-place-my-Orbi-satellite ‌‌🛰

Does this happen with the RBS turned OFF?
Does this happen with both wireless and wired devices?
What channel configurations are currently set on the router?

  • Any progress on this?
