Auto Config and Auto Detect do not maintain continued ipv6 addressing

I had forgotten how badly Orbi routers were with respect to maintaining ipv6 connectivity.  I wish I had remembered this before spending THIS AMOUNT of money for the new WiFi 7 kit.

Auto Config and Auto Detect do not maintain continued ipv6 addressing.

I am on Xfinity 1Gbit service.

  • Not the first time the ISP would be involved in the IPv6 issues seen.

If I throw my Velop 6E router node back into position IPv6 is consistently maintained.  That doesn't completely dissolve Xfinity from playing a role but considering how big of a provider they (Comcast) are, I would expect Netgear - also being preeminent - to have this stuff figured out by now - no matter the ISP handshaking going on.

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended.

Does configuring 6to4 or Static work?

  • Firmware update today, to V9.10.1.4_1.1.12.

    Same IPv6 issues.

This Orbi system is too expensive for being this dysfunctional!

Got this from someone I asked about there system and XF IPv6:

"I test ipv6 frequently since your post and have not had any issues with my Xfinity connection with ipv6."

Side-by-side with other makes of routers, I demonstrate consistent failures on the Orbi 7 2-pack I have.  Linksys Velop 6e and a Qnap product perform flawlessly.

Still waiting on feedback from Netgear.  Their engineering team has gathered a ton of info and debug logs from my environment.
