Found Fix To IoT Disconnect Issues
Hi All, I've been experiencing daily disconnections on the Orbi 970 IoT network while using the "2.4 GHz only" mode. However, after switching to the "2.4 GHz and 5 GHz" mode, these disconnections ...
Are any of these 44 devices 5Ghz supporting?
Possible that having that many on the 2.4Ghz could be causing it to over load and destabilize. Seems that since you enabled 5Ghz that some of these off loaded to 5Ghz and whats left on 2.4Ghz is stabilized.
I agree with your theory. Currently, 21 of the 44 devices are connected to the 5GHz IoT network. Surprisingly, I've found that many devices, initially connected to the 2.4GHz band, also support 5GHz. This includes the latest models of Alexa devices and Nest thermostats
Please help me understand something. Do I even need the IoT network?
Does the ferrari network only do 5Ghz and 6Ghz? so the IoT (i3 network) is needed for 2.4ghz devices.
Also do you think there is a speed difference between ferrari and i3 5Ghz networks if the device does not support 6GHZ? Like should I move my 2.4Ghz/5Ghz capable devices over to Ferrari to get a speed increase...All three frequencies are supported on the main WLAN network.
The IoT network is there for users to use for IoT devices and specifically for 2.4Ghz devices that historically had problems connecting to Older Orbi systems that didn't have this feature.
Kinda need to test things out as you see fit and see what works best for you. I presume if you have lots of just IoT devices that don't need fast speed or performance, put them on the IoT network and save the main WLAN for devices that need good speed and performances.
