I Finally found a solution to fixing the ORBI970 iPhone WIFI disconnecting issue

I had frequent Wi-Fi disconnection issues with my iPhone on the Orbi 970, and after some trial and error, here are the steps I took to resolve it:

Adjust Wireless Channels and Security Settings  Go to: Advanced > Setup > Wireless Setup
Change 2.4GHz Channel from "Auto" to "6"
Change 5GHz Channel to a lower channel like "36"
Change Security Options to "WPA3-Personal only" (Note: WPA2-PSK or WPA2/WPA3 mixed mode may cause instability with some iPhones)
Click Apply

Optimize Advanced Wireless Settings  Go to: Advanced > Advanced Setup > Wireless Settings
Uncheck "20/40 MHz Coexistence"
Under 2.4GHz Advanced Wireless Settings, change Preamble Mode to "Long Preamble"
Under 5GHz Advanced Wireless Settings, change Preamble Mode to "Long Preamble"
Click Apply

Check Satellite Sync and Connection Type  Go to: Basic > Attached Devices
Ensure each connected satellite shows:
Status: "Good"
Connection Type: "5GHz" or "5GHz + 6GHz"
If your satellite is connected via 2.4GHz, it may cause poor performance and Wi-Fi drops
If needed, re-sync the satellite or move it closer to the main router

What I am trying to do here is to tell people what they could do to solve their iPhone Wifi dropping issue.I am aware that this solution might create or make other devices who do not support it to work, but at least it solve the iPhone Wifi dropping problem.Is like, when you get an iPhone 16, there are definitely gadgets/items/app that would not work with this new phone because of compatibility issue or sort.Yes, while we all wish that all gadgets from the 16th century to 20th century items to all work together, there will definitely be pro and cons.I also have old IoT gadgets around my house that reply on 2.4GhZ, but they are all not affected by the WPA2-PSK (mixed mode) issue.If this mixed mode issue is the problem, the only way to get the full function of your Orbi970 router, is to update all the IoT gadgets around your house that supports WPA3.What I am typing here is A solution to the iPhone Wifi dropping issue.Trust me, I have been in this forum for months, trying to find a solution but all I hear in this forum is people complaining, nagging, saying how Netgear is leaving us alone here.But at least I am here, setting this chat/post, to give people a possible solution to make their Wifi work with their iPhone (if WPA2-PSK is not an issue).&nbsp;&nbsp;

While this is a great work around and points us in a good direction for some cause of the issues happening on the 970 series with Apple and probably Android devices as well, all new gen, this is not a long term solution and at most a partial solution. Yes if users want too, can enable WPA3 only on the main WLAN and if they have non supporting WPA3 devices, would need to move these devices over to the IoT network and configure that accordingly for use with those devices if they choose too. This is only a work around and temporary solution while we all wait for NG, Apple, Android and the chip set mfr to work thru the issues at hand with these devices having issues with mix mode security enabled and probably other issues as well. Once NG and everyone else involved gets the fix in and gets tested, then hopefully we can all have mixed mode back in full use and have both new and old generation devices working well back on the main WLAN. So it up to users to choose to use this work around solution or not. We'll all need to be patient while NG and those involved get the issues at hand fixed and resolved. No idea when that will be so don't ask me.&nbsp;

Maybe a good solution for newer Apple Iphones, however setting Security to WPA3 only will cause all other non supporting WPA3 devices, to not work on the main WLAN.&nbsp;
Does those Advanced Setup configuration settings work with mixed mode WPA2 and WPA3 enabled or do you still see odd problems with the iphones?&nbsp;

so far, no wifi connection are dropping for the iPhones 15 and 16 in my household.
