Map 870 satellites to router only (not piggyback onto another satelite)

Map satellites to router only (not to another Satellite)

I have Orbi 870 Router with 3 satelites I want all 3 to connect directly to the router and not attach to another satellite.  See the attached picture

No matter where I put the satellites they keep connecting to each other

      No picture?

Well, unless Netgear decides to (finally) fix the forum bug, we aren't going to see many pictures posted.

What speeds are you getting with the daisy-chain?  If it is giving good performance now, then maybe leave well enough alone.

How many satellites?  How much time are you giving the mesh to stabilize?

Generally the mesh prefers direct connection between the router and the satellites.  If that's not happening, then the usual cause is that the router wifi isn't providing a good connection to the satellites.

Try turning off the satellites, and measuring the router wifi signal strength at the satellite locations with your phone.   Speedtest is also worth running.

Ideally you want -65 RSSI or better at the satellite location (since the numbers are negative, smaller values are more powerful).

Thanks for the insight. I think I might start over. The funny part is that I had just upgraded from my Orbi Wi-Fi seven 770s in the exact same locations which all perfectly synced to the router directly with the 870s for some reason it’s finding stronger signal with the other satellites I may do factory reboot and restart the whole process again with the router being out in the open and do each satellite slowly.

You can use a cloud share to post your pictures then use the Camera icon to post the link to those pictures.

Placement is key between the RBR and RBS.

What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?

What is the distance between the router 📡 and satellite(s)🛰️? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR 📡 and RBS 🛰️ to begin with depending upon building materials when wired or wirelessly connected.

Also powering them OFF then power one ON one at a time can help as well.
