  • I have to test this more, but having buffering issues playing from a wired plex server to wireless fire tv cube now, with high bitrate videos.   Never saw this problem before the update........

    Can i downgrade firmware ?

Will it really work as other orbies never fully worked on a downgrade ?

Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router and satellite(s) been performed since last update?

Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:

      Turn off and unplug modem.

      Turn off router and computers.

Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.

Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.

Turn on computers and rest of network.

      How many RBS are deployed?

What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?

What is the distance between the router 📡 and satellite(s)🛰️? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR 📡 and RBS 🛰️ to begin with depending upon building materials when wired or wirelessly connected.

Where is the Fire TV box located in relation to the RBR or nearest RBS?

Is the TV box connecting to the RBR or RBS?

Does this happen if the device is ethernet connected to the RBR or a RBS?

What channel configurations are currently set on the router?

The plex server is wired to the RBS and both RBS's are hard wired to the RBR

I have 4 fire TV cubes, I will test all and I have done a reset after firmware update but maybe I will force anouther firmware update to each by file if possible

  • V12 firmware behavior: Often, when I move to different areas of the house between satellites, network connections either fail or are quite slow. When I toggle wifi, it snaps back to high speed. Before the toggle, when I look at receive/transmit speeds, I'll see a much slower 5ghz vs 6ghz speed, esp on receive. Anyone else seeing that beha?

  • Installed on two separate & different geographies of Orbi 970 systems without a hitch.  Did it via the web interface using Chrome; satellites first.  As satellites were rebooting after manual update, I did the router (in AP mode).   All went very smoothly.

As a side note, On each install, I have some satellites hard wired backhaul and some are wireless.

My only observation about install is to be patient after reboot as it takes a few minutes to config synch satellites.   All smiles here.

  • All went well here. About two weeks uptime and so far very smooth and stable. I updated manually and reset all satellites and router and started fresh. Much better than my initial experience after installing over the top of V9.x.

Be sure to save off a new backup configuration to file.
