Not the case. While the hardware itself likely is the same, the WiFi power limits are different (higher) in the US. So while the router will work, it will not be in conformance with EU regulations.
This is handled by region-locking the firmware - I don't believe there is any way change the region in Netgear's AX (WiFi 6)and BE (WiFi 7) routers.
My company has offices in the USA and Europe. We would like to purchase the Orbi system with our USA office, set it up, test it and then send it to our European office - ready to go. We have read many community articles that the only difference is the power supply. We check all our current Netgear equipment and they all have 100-240V 50/60Hz AC-DC power supplies from Netgear.
However, we have read community articles about some using the 120V/60Hz with just an adapter working just great in Europe. We read articles that say you must specify Europe when ordering and other articles that said "They are come with the 100-240V 50/60Hz so only a plug adapter is needed."
Very confusing on what power supply you will get when you order.
We noticed in all the technical details the voltage/Amp (19V/3.16A) specification does not mention what actual AC-DC power supply is used (100-120v or 100-240V).
After some searching I found that the Orbi 970 router and satellite used the RBKE973 (332-11724-01) adapter power supply with available plug adapters. The problem is where to find the power supply and the adapters. Netgear shows this power supply with adapter in the quick setup.
Can I purchase the USA version of the ORBI power supplies and then purchase additional Europe versions of the power supplies from Netgear? I do not see this option.
Where do I get the plug adapters for the satellite power supply?
Why not just send the same worldwide with adapters power supply shown in the quick setup for all Orbi routers and satellites? I cannot be the much more expensive
