Hi there, I've got a relatively new 770 on the latest firmware v10.5.20.7 things work mostly as they should but there is a consistent issue that I believe is a bug possibly. When I have IPv6 DHCP turned on I cannot access Reddit through my cell phone (Samsung 25 Ultra wifi7) on the Reddit app. It consistently hangs, videos don't play, comments don't appear. When I turn off the wireless it works perfectly. When I turn off IPv6 on the router there are no issues and I can access Reddit just fine. It's very strange that this seems to be an issue but other apps and searches have no issues. I tested this on a computer on the same network (both IPv6 & 4 and there were no issues. I tested this also on an iPhone and there were similar issues (the iPhone is several years old so not wifi7). There seems to be a noticeable hanging across a few apps (always on Reddit) and even in browsers on mobile devices. I can't turn off IPv6 completely without creating cascading issues, I tried changing to open instead of secure but that didn't do anything. I'm not sure why Reddit would be problematic but I do notice that some other sites take a beat before displaying but its not a pronounced as it is with Reddit. Anyone have a suggestion or have they noticed anything similar? I've had an older Orbi and never had anything like this.

Is that the same as the person from this thread? "Issues with various apps on android devices" because it sounds like the same issue and they seem to say that just shutting IPv6 off is the solution for them. I can't do that unfortunately I need IPv6 for other things. Accessing Reddit is just the most consistent way to see the issue.

I have the same issue with the 770 series on xfinity using a nighthawk modem. I helped that other user the other day with the 870 series for the same exact thing using a different isp and modem. IPV6 seems to be broken in all the new orbi wifi 7 series. It is not an ISP issue since it seems to be happening with all of them and different modems. The router does not lose the ipv6 ip, they just stop resolving the dns for ipv6 on android and android does not default back to ipv4 because it still has an ipv6 ip so the dns for ipv6 does not work and your apps wont work right. I even noticed my laptop using a qualcomm card does it randomly but comes back. I have already had one android device not working on the network while at the same time another device is working perfectly. The only way to correct the device not working is to cycle on and off the wifi till it stops passing the dns traffic again. Cloudflare warp will give you ipv6 even if you have it disabled in the router but you will take a speed hit. For now I have disabled ipv6 till netgear figures out the issue.

Yes it seems that this is what is happening. Hard to test for I suppose, but given there was a previous issue with the iPhone I would assume they would be more rigorous with their testing. IPv6 does seem janky, hopefully they can figure this out as it's a major inconvenience and I can't turn off IPv6 without creating other issues. Its good that others are reporting this too so it gets more attention.

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too? Is the Computer wireless or ethernet connected? Are these devices all connected at the RBR or the RBS? What model iPhones do you have and what iOS versions are on these phones?

Strange Reddit IPv6 issue

  I had RBK753 previously on the same network, same provider (Spectrum)

    How is IPv6 configured on the RBR when IPv6 is enabled?
    
    I know of one other that is on spectrum, however has a CM3000 modem and a 970 series orbi system and they just mentioned last week that IPv6 started working for them. Seems to be ISP related for him which is also a factor as well. ISP level IPv6 has been problematic over the years.

  Ok, seems to be resolved by disabling IPv6. We have been passing along to NG IPv6 issues as we get them in. NG has disabled IPv6 by default on newer versions of FW while they work on getting IPv6 fully working. So for now, you'll need to disable IPv6 for now. Will keep checking with NG about this.

    I've had this problem with my Samsung phones since we bought this system (770) last year. Just had to disable IPv6 entirely.

I have Verizon FiOS and the Orbi 770. With my Galaxy S25, I do not now (and in the past) have any problems accessing Reddit with IPv6 on. With android, you need in LAN Setup to choose auto config, and additionally I have Enable RIPng turned on.
