AX4300 broadcasting hidden SSID

I have AX4300 installed for about 4 years. I have one SSID for which broadcasting is NOT enabled. However, the router is broadcasting that SSID as well. I have another "guest SSID" for which broadcasting is enabled.

In the router configuration, SSID for the "hidden" network is still NOT enabled.

How can I stop it from broadcasting the hidden  SSID?

Firmware Version V1.0.16.132_2.0.92

Thanks!

Mike

    Thanks for the quick response.

I have lots of setup/configuration on this router, .e.g, IP address to MAC address mapping.

I have taken a backup yesterday.

Can I do the factory reset and then restore using the latest backup? Will that fix the issue?

    Thanks!

Try the FR with out loading the backup first and see if the hidden SSID is gone, if so, then load up the back up from file.

  • there's a difference from turning off the wifi on a specific band and whether the ssid can be seen or not (hidden).

What do you actually have checked off? (screensnips help)

also, having a "hidden" ssid doesn't always hide it. Its just usually hidden from a built in basic scanner (and not all of them either).
