AX5400 Modem Requirements
I am considering this router but I'm confused as to whether or not I need a modem with a 2.5 Gbps ethernet port. While shopping for cable modems, I see there are modems offering this and those that are not.
Thanks.

What does your current isp give you in speed?

That's all you will get so a 2.5 port would not get you anymore than 600Mbps.
I'm guessing you are US where I'm U.K. so I don't know all the various types available but I'm sure if you posted some a helpful person will help out.
What router are you looking at? AX5400 is a speed.
A 2.5g port is nice if you're isp is supporting >1 gig speeds. Or if you plan on upgrading in the future to those speeds.
But if you have no intention of >1gig speeds, then there isn't much benefit to it.

Ah, that's confusing. I ended up getting the RAX50 but now I'm going to try out the Orbi RBK752.
Thanks.
