Connection to internet

Question

Some apps update with WiFi. Other apps need mobile data to update, sometimes. Why?

What modem/gateway is it connected to?&nbsp;
What firmware is the router running?&nbsp;
Is it all apps or just specific apps?&nbsp;
Is it android/iOS/Windows?&nbsp;
What device is having issues or all of them?

Netgear AC 1900, D7000v2, modem router.I have a Dell desktop, windows 11, no problems. My mobile phone S21 Ultra 5G sometimes has problems with mobile data connection to internet. At home, it connects to the netgear wifi. Sometimes I cannot update some Apps via the wifi &amp; have to turn on mobile data. The Google news and ABC Australia News apps are trhe main problem.&nbsp; Wifi will not update, but mobile data will.

Desktop Netgear(modem, router) go through NBN. I am using mobile phone &amp; just now WiFi did not work &amp; had to go through mobile data ???

It doesn't tell me what service you have or how the D7000 is connected to it.&nbsp;
