Disabling WPS in RAX54S

Does anyone know how to disable WPS in the RAX54S either directly or indirectly if there is such a way like disabling a pin?  I do caregiving & sometimes take in people with disabilities whose caregivers need a break or teens who just aged out of the foster care system.  I set up a guest network for them, but don't like the idea that they get into the main network with the WPS.  I was also thinking of doing a bed & breakfast.  I don't like this feature being there for that either.  I thought of enabling access control to prevent more devices from being added, but I don't see a way to enable it for only the main network & not the guest network. Is there a way to keep my computer & information safe from basically unknown guest & still allow them to have internet?  The WPS button being accessible seems a security vulnerability for my situation.

  • I'd agree with it being a big of a security risk. There used to be a way to disable it. I don't see it on my rs600 or any of my orbi's. Could be a feature that's been removed. Might suggest re/enabling it on the ideas exchange forum.

I believe that WPS is not active until any WPS button is pressed.

Something to ask NG about though.

You're a little caught. If they have access to hit the wps button, they also have access to the ethernet ports which gives them access to. Locking it in a cabinet or even a plastic case is about your only option

Thank you for the responses!  I'm going to post it on the idea exchange area now.  That part of the site is new to me, so thanks for alerting me to it & suggesting it!
