Finding my WiFi
I purchased a new Netgear Nighthawk AX12 WiFi router to replace my older Netgear Nighthawk X6 AC3200 Got it hooked up and everything works perfect, including wifi to all my devices. Including Sony TV,LG TV, Direct TV, Sansung appliances, Android boxes, and Iphones. The only thing that does not work is my Toshiba Satellite L755 laptop. It can't find my wifi, but still picks up all my neighbors as available networks. I can make it work with a Netgear "dongle" and it works fine. It worked on my older Netgear router but not now on the new one. I have spent several hour researching the internet and have found a few fixes but nothing works. My network adaptor in the laptop is a Realtek RTL8188CE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E-NIC.
Any help or ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks, Mike

AX12 isn't a valid model #. RAX?
What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.Make sure the wifi adapter drivers on the laptop are up to date.
Contact the Mfr of this laptop for help and support regarding there product.

What does "can't find my wifi" mean. Invisible SSID? Sees it but won't connect?
When you set up the new router (RAX120, RAX200? But it doesn't really matter) did you give it the same SSID and wifi passwords?
That is the easiest way to replace a router. Do that and the connected devices should not notice the change.
If you did not do that, did you take the laptop through the setup process? Tell it to forget any previous wifi connections. (That's a setting in Windows.) And connect it to the new router.
You should also look is not the nature of your Windows network. Windows like to see new networks – a conncti0on to a new router for example – as a security risk and deems them to be public. You may find that it help to flag it as private.

I use Cat 6 cables in great condition
My laptop finds all available networks but does not recognize mine. It recognizes about 6 all my neighbors and such
I have done all the set up procedures required to make it work properly, and I feel it is a problem with my router and wifi adapter in my laptop not recognizing each other. All of my other 13 items on wifi work fine.
If you look around that realtek is known to have issues with AX.
Options?
1. replace the card. Usually not that hard to do. There's usually videos on youtube of how to do it with specific laptops.
2. Check with realtek on the driver version that you have to see if there's a newer one. Don't use the windows one as it tends to to be the most current. get it direct from realtek's site.
3. use a dongle as you're using. No point holding back your network because of a sketchy wifi card.
I have also went through the driver updates and uninstalling and installing.
Thank you, Mike

If you got it direct from realtek, might be time to replace that wireless card. No point holding back your networks performance (by disabling the routers AX) because of old technology that realtek doesn't support anymore.
