Internet and Wifi Work on PCs, but not on Mobile Phones

Hello, I just set up my Nighthawk AX5400 Router. All of my PCs are connected with ethernet, laptops are connected with WiFi, and even my Roku streaming device can connect to it. All work perfect and receive internet.

However, my mobile phone does not get internet. In fact, all mobile phones trying to connect are not receiving internet. "Connected to device. Can't provide internet" is the message on my Android, for example. Is there a setting on the router that is preventing mobile phones from getting internet?

Thank you for your help.

  • You might disable the AX part as some (older) devices may have issues with it.

I enabled Smart Connect which appears to work. Perhaps there was a conflict with the 2.4 and 5G SSIDs.

My phone is a Google Pixel 6, and others are using iPhone 12s and 13s, so overall pretty new devices.

update: smart connect only worked on my phone. The others connect to the router, but don't get internet.

Model is Nighthawk RAX50 and firmware is V1.0.11.112_2.0.77. Everything connects perfectly fine and getting internet except for Apple iPhones, which I find to be very odd. It gives the "connected, no internet" message under the WiFi status.

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?

What channels are you using? Auto? Try Auto and 48 on 5Ghz. Or try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 to 48 channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

        How is Advanced Wireless configured?

Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Enable or disable Beamforming and MIMO if seen. Save settings and reboot the router. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings
