Nighthawk AX4 refuses Oneplus 6 after Oxygen OS 10.0 (Android Q) update

Since updating my OnePlus 6 to Oxygen OS 10.0, it's been impossible to connect to my Netgear Nighthawk RAX40 Wi-Fi router, whether with MAC address set as fixed or random.
The password hasn't changed.
I've tried rebooting the phone and rebooting the router.
I've tried on the 5GHz and the 2.4GHz.
My family who have other phones under Android 9 have no issues.
Also, my phone connects properly to public Wi-Fi services.
So I'm deducing it's an issue between Oxygen OS 10.0 and the Netgear Nighthawk RAX40.
Is anyone else having this issue?
Any ideas as to a solution?

  • A couple things to try.

    1. Go into the oneplus 6 and forget the network and then reconnect.

    2. Does your ssid or password have special characters in it? If so, try removing them.

    3. Are you using smart connect?

    4. The oneplus doesn't have ax. Try disabling it. maybe something is conflicting with their implementation.

      Thanks for replying.
I'm not using AX on the router, precisely because I have no AX-compatible devices yet.
No special characters in the password.
I've tried going into flight mode, forgetting networks, rebooting both phone and router, wiping the cache partition on the phone, putting Wi-Fi back on.
The connection states "connecting", then goes to "saved" and stays at that status, never "connected".
This is the case for both 2.4 and 5 GHz bands.
My OnePlus 6 connects with no issues to all other Wi-Fi networks, both public and private.

        Hi,

I have a similar issue with my One Plus 6t. I recently bought the Netgear nighthawk ax4 wifi 6 router, and I am unable to connect my one plus 6t (Android 10) to it.
I could sign in from my wife's Samsung Galaxy s9.
