Nighthawk axe11000 not working

Hello,

I recently bought the NetGear NightHawk AXE11000 RAXE500.

I opened it and set it up and it was working fine. All of a sudden the router shut off alone. I tried powering it off and on, however, after that it did not work.

I tried resetting it but also did not work. Right now when i plug the router the only lights that come up is the power LED. Stays orange and the rest of LEDs are off.

I tried the hard reset, also not working. Tried every possible solution but was not lucky at all.

Seems like the the router is not detecting the internet and the router is not appearing on my devices.

Hope someone can help me with that, would be extremely grateful.

  • Is there a POWER LED and internet LED being seen as ON? How about the wifi LEDs? They should be on?

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended.

Can you access the routers web page with a wired PC at 192.168.1.1?

Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router been performed since last update?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
    Turn off and unplug modem.
    Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network.

  • If you recently bought it, I'd exchange it for a new one.

If only the power light comes on, it sounds like a corrupt firmware/boot process.

Its potentially fixable but sometimes faster/easier to exchange it.

If you want to try fixing it, here's the guides.

You can try recovering it with tftp or nmrpflash.
are you on windows? if so, follow this guide
    https://kb.netgear.com/000059634/How-to-upload-firmware-to-a-NETGEAR-router-using-Windows-TFTP
just make sure you enable tftp
    https://www.thewindowsclub.com/enable-tftp-windows-10

and here's a video walk through using a tftp client. Use the built in one for windows 10 though. the video is more of an example of how its done.

and if that doesn't work, you can try using nmrpflash

An orange power LED is odd. The manual says nothing about an orange option. It is either on or blinking, which denotes corrupt firmware.

Check that the LED On/Off switch on the rear panel is not moved in the Off position.

Maybe there is a problem with the power adapter. If not, then you may have a dead router that is ready for a warranty RMA.
