RAX 35 not working

I got this router around August 2021 and it was working completely fine until it stopped working, i was using it as a wifi extender since we dont use modems in my country. I've tried the reset button but it still doesn't work, i cant even get the IP address. The 2nd port led and the guest wifi led is on for some reason. firmware version is v1.0.4.102_1.0.1

  • what happens when you push and hold reset?

What does the power led do?

Have you checked to see if the power supply was switched with another device?

What do you mean by "wifi extender"? What connects it to the Internet?

The manual for the RAX35 makes no mention of "extender" mode. No reference to bridge or repeater modes either.

Do you mean wireless access point (AP) mode? It does support that.

I've tried the reset button but it still doesn't work

Remember. after a reset the RAX35 returns to router mode. You need to put it back into whatever mode it was in before the reset.

i cant even get the IP address.

    What does that mean?

... i cant change the mode or connect to routerlogin.net to it

What happens when you try to connect to routerlogin?

What did you mean in your first message when you said?

i cant even get the IP address

That could be the key to your problems.

Unfortunately, the official guidance is not as clear as it could be.

How do I change my NETGEAR router to AP mode? | Answer | NETGEAR Support

i connected it to an existing wifi router

Where did this existing router come from? How does that fit into the network?

Without full details of what you are doing it is hard to work out what is happening.

Add your RAX35 to another router and the default IP address of your existing wifi router, and things like www.routerlogin.net, can clash with the default IP address of the RAX35.
