RAX 80 lagging

I have a RAX80 router, ruinning in AP mode.

Router works normally fine, but starts lagging even with hard-wired devices after some time.

Latest Firmware running, have done several resets recently.

I have a lot of smart-home devices running like

* several Google home

* Nest doorbell

* smart light (Philips hub, one chin. manufacturer)

* Chromecast (Audio & TV)

and of course several mobile phone, tablets, notebooks,...

This lagging kliss my mood, and even more of my son, when he's playing with the hardwired (!) PS5.

Any hints what to do?

All settings are pretty much to standard, just switched to AP mode and changed the name and pwd of the Wifi.

  • If its in AP mode, what router is it connected to?

    That's usually whats causing the lag as in ap mode, the RAX isn't doing any traffic inspection/management at all. Its all the primary router.

      Huawei Hybrid router, no chance to reconfigure it.

      But problems definitely come from RAX. Any chance to find out, which smart home device may cause this?

        Any chance of a model number? I suspect that Huawei has made more than one "hybrid router", whatever that is. Modem router? (Someone here may have experience with it.) Plenty of those certainly don't offer "bridge mode".

        How did you determine that?

        You could try turning off devices one at a time to see what happens.

        But it is hard to think how a Wifi client can throttle a router. The usual complaint is the other way round, that routers slow down clients.
