RAX120v2 Rebooting Issue
Hi,
I'm currently using
- Nighthawk AX12 RAX120v2
- Router Firmware Version V1.2.8.40
This has been a pretty horrible user experience for the past ~5 months that I've been using this router. From experience, I can tell that this seems to be driven by a few factors
- Device compatibility - in my case, it's with my Samsung TV
- Heavy Use: real time streaming like Airplay or Live TV at 4K
Above uses seem to overheat the router and cause it to reboot.
I am hearing that firmware in beta may help. Please share with me!

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended. What is the first 3 characters of the routers serial number please?

Hi
Thanks for the reply!
ISP is Xfinity. I have a hard time finding out the mfr/model number for the ISP provided modem but it's one of those white xfi gateway modems. Confirming that I am using a good LAN cable (Cat 8 in fact :D). Router is in Access Point mode right now.First three letters of the serial number for the RAX120v2 I have are 6JY.
So if the RAX is in AP mode, your ISP modem would have a built in router or you have a router in between the modem and the RAX. AP mode requires a router and DHCP services.
Can't find a brand name and model of the ISP modem on the case anywhere?
To properly test the RAX, the RAX should be in router mode to check this beta...
