RAX200 Reduction is connection speed to ISP.

Hi all,

I have a RAX200 and was on a 5000mpbs download connection with my ISP which worked fine,

I recently upgraded my ISP connection to 900mbps but the router would only connect at 500 to 600mbps on firmware version RAX200-V1.0.10.140_1.0.79.  Download speed when connected on LAN would also be reduced to 500-600mbps..  I download all of the older versions of the firmwares and found that the router can connect to my ISP at 900mbps on firmware version RAX200-V1.0.2.8_1.0.45 and download speeds are in the 800-900mbps connected on Lan.  As soon as I update the firmware to the next version RAX200_V1.0.3.106_1.0.58 the speed is restricted to 500 to 600mbps again.

Is this a known issue?  Would Netgear be willing to fix the current firmware as I lose some functionality by downgrading the firmware?

Thanks,

Dave

  • did you try factory resetting it after the update? I'd also leave access control, traffic monitoring, and parental controls all disabled.

      Hi,

Yes, the router was reset to factory each time and no additional features were added.  It seems to be a firmware issue or a new feature in the firmware.

You might need to play around a little. The RAX200 hasn't had much for updates in quite a while so I doubt they'll be doing much with it. Its worthy trying to turn on/off services. Or even disabling some of the logging features that aren't needed.
