RAX49 router not forwarding port 445
The office:
We have a RAX49 wifi router. It’s the main router for our small office. We only have 2 computers in the office. A SMB server which is wired to the router, and a desktop connected wirelessly. We also have 3 laptops that come and go.
Trouble:
In the office we can access the server files with the desktop and the laptops fine. It works great in the office using the local IP from the server.
Outside the office:
We can not access the server using the router WAN IP address. We never get the login screen.
NOTE: it’s been working for months fine. We JUST upgraded our internet speed 30 days ago. It all worked AFTER the upgrade for 10 days.
Tries:
I have factory reset. the router. Added our assigned WAN static IP, the wifi information and set up the DMZ to point to the server. Nothing to technical here.
From home I can screen share with server. So I know the DMZ is working. BUT we can NOT log into the server and access the files.
The internet company has replaced the cable modem, and problem still exist. They say there are no ports being blocked on their end.
Any ideas and help to point me in the right direction for a solution, would be helpful. THANKS.

Access how? We connect from our Macs. smb://0.0.0.0 (the real IP deleted) We don't get the sign on screen asking for account & password.Connect just times out.
oh also adding. I can connect to the server using screen sharing from home through the router.

I asked because Netgear has been blocking "remote access" as a security measure.
Perhaps I should have asked about this:

You are playing with various things that need to cooperate. In this case, both the server and the desktops need to play nicely together. The router is just one link in the chain.
People need to know as much as possible about what is happening at your end before they can begin to ponder on what might be going on.
