RAXE500 Questiions and performance?
Hi everyone, hope you all had a nice holiday. I am not sure if to be concerened or if I am overthinking, but after ordering a static IP from my ISP, the second light on my RAXE500(network light) is now orange/amber. I am also unable to run speed tests from my Netgear app. Has anyone experience this? Are there any recommendations as to how to solve this? All insight is deeply appreciated.
I pay for cable 1000/50 as Fiber is almost here and I haven't gotten it just yet. I use a CM1200 Modem for my gig service that I purchased myself.
I ordered a static IP so I can host a server and do a couple of different things internally on my network.
If it helps, we have around 45 devices on the router and it's covering 2500 SQ feet. The router is placed in the center of the home and coverage is strong all around.
If you all think that a static IP isn't the answer or if there is a setting I need to tweak, I am open to all suggestions and advice. The goal of everything is to have a feature-rich experience while maintaining a great connection for my household. I just bought the RAXE500 a few months ago.
Thanks!

Did you tell the RAXE500 that you now have a static WAN IP address? (Do not confuse that with a fixed local IP address.)
Probably here:
- Internet Setup
- Internet IP address
Or Set up an IPv6 fixed Internet connection
- Advanced
- Advanced setup
- IPv6
Just another user with time on their hands.
- ArmorlessAspirantHi,
Thank you for a quick response.
Yes, I switched from “Get Dynamically from ISP” to “Use static IP address” and used the information provided by my ISP. I also have manually adjusted the DNS to the ISP’s recommended DNS servers
Unfortunately my current ISP doesn’t support IPV6 for either dynamic or static. I can only setup a “6to4” tunnel which i’ve read degrades connectivity.
Thank you! Please post a copy and paste of the CM modems connection status and event log page.
