Readyshare no longer available - asking for credentials, but not supposed to

My router's Readyshare has suddenly stopped working.  When I try to access it, it prompts for credentials which it should not be doing.  I reset it to factory and it still isn't working.

Firmware Version V1.0.11.112_2.0.77

Windows 11 - version 24H2

I see that a Windows update installed on 12/16.  Perhaps there is a conflict here?

Ideas or am I just SOL on using this ever again?

  • This is what solved it for me and the video where I got the information:

    Enable insecure guest login policy

    Start > Run > "gpedit.msc"

Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Network > Lanman Workstation

    Select: "Enable insecure guest logins"

    Change to Enabled and Apply

close window and then try again.

    This absolutely worked for me!

  • Seems to be working now from a pc wired into the network, but not working from a pc on a Wifi access.

  • For some reason, I can't edit my original post, so just wanted to add that I can see the files and even download if I pull it up through a web browser.  But this doesn't allow me to add a new file, for example.  It's when I try to use Windows File Explorer that I am prompted for credentials.
