Router is preventing website from loading properly
I've had a problem with my router not allowing specific sites to load images or styles. it's been doing this for *months* now. I've been seeing this problem all around the internet but nobody seems to know what an actual solution is.
I have the Nighthawk AX5400 WiFi Router (RAX50). I'm trying to access 4chan, and I'm only getting simple text. No images or page styles are loading. It literally just looks like a white page with text and a few blue hyperlinks (see attached screenshot). Anything, and I mean anything, connected to the router, by wifi or hard line, cannot load it properly. If I connect directly through the modem or use mobile data, I can see the site no problem, so it's not the site. It's not being blocked by my ISP. It's not being blocked by my router (I don't even pay for blocking services).
These are the things I've done:
- I have turned it off and on again.
- I have checked for firmware updates.
- I have unplugged Modem+Router for over a half hour before plugging them back in, modem first, then router.
- I have also unplugged ALL devices or turned off wifi on ALL devices that use the router while having the M+R off as stated above.
- I have cleared DNS cache.
- I have changed my DNS to Google's public one.
- I have factory reset my router.
- I have enabled ipv6 to auto detect (worked for a day or two then stopped. Redoing this has not helped)
I don't know what else to do short of buying a new one which I really don't want to do cause money. Other people have been saying they're having the same exact problem for various sites, so it's not uniquely a 4chan thing, and seems to be random.

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.Does this happen with different browser with same site or different sites?
Does this happen across different PCs, laptops and mobile devices?
How is Ipv6 configured.
Try custom IPv6 DNS addresses?
The firmware version is V1.0.16.132_2.0.92
I have a Netgear Nighthawk CM1000v2I only ever use high-quality cables, always CAT6
Regardless of browser it still does this
And I did say earlier it happens on all devices that are connected to the router, be it wifi or ethernetI never changed the configurations, I don't really know anything about ipv6 but here's the settings it has:
Internet connection type ~ DHCP
User Class ~ none
Domain Name ~ none
IPv6 DNS Address ~ Get automatically from ISP
Router's IPv6 Address on LAN ~ Auto config
IPv6 Filtering ~ Secured
I'll try a custom IPv6I would first try IPv6 disabled on the router.
Power OFF the ISP Modem and Router for 1 minute then back on.
If problem is still happening, factory reset and setup from scratch. A complete pull of the power adapters for a period of time after the factory reset then walk thru the setup wizard and setup from scratch with a wired PC and web browser. https://kb.netgear.com/22697/How-do-I-install-my-NETGEAR-router-using-the-router-web-interface
Recommend setting the default DHCP IP address pool range to the following after applying and a factory reset: 192.168.#.100 to 192.168.#.200.

I would power OFF the ISP modem for 1 minute. Factory reset the router and power it off. Power ON the ISP modem and let it sync. Then power ON the router and walk thru the setup wizard again using a wired PC and a web browser.
Press the back reset button for 15 seconds then release.

Or use the ERASE button on the routers web page to factory reset the router:
