Throttle Bandwidth

Model Version:

Essentials WiFi 6 (WAX204)
NETGEAR WiFi 6 AX1800 Dual Band Wireless Access Point (WAX204)
Firmware: V1.0.2.4
OS: Windows 10
Environment: Home (3 Users)
So the Xbox on my network is taking up a majority of the download speed. It's okay here but it'll spike to 28.82Mbps/30.24MBps and thus every other device on the network grinds to a halt.

I've set it's priority to the lowest; the Xbox doesn't have a means of capping it's internet usage. What else can I do with the router?
I've heard of using a fixed IP but the post was about prioritising the console over the rest of the network; which is the opposite of what I want to do. So I stopped looking into that.
The QoS seems to just be adapting but still giving the lions share to the Xbox.

Better example

  • You cannot manually set a max/fixed bandwidth per device on NETGEAR firmware. QoS is as best as you can get

A fixed/reserved IP does not have influence on bandwidth, unless you use some tool to set bandwidth for a specific IP, which can't be done on NG firmware.

So I'd need 3rd party software to limit bandwidth for this. I have to express the internet just stops for everyone when the Xbox starts downloading. And there's gotta be something before pulling the cable out.

Well, I'm not sure if this is possible since I never use QoS, but if you can, set the QoS priority to lowest for the Xbox.
