VLAN setup on RAX120
Hi, I am looking for some help setting up VLANS with RAX120v2 router. I just built an opnsense firewall which will be sending vlan 3 different vlan tags over its lan interface to the RAX120.
I want to configure all the ethernet ports to be tagged with 30, wifi 2.4Ghz with 20 and wifi 5Ghz with 50. Looking at the netgear interface, I have a few questions.
1. I see the internet port is tagged by default with 100. Do I need to pass a 100 tag as well from opnsense?
2. I don't see the Multi Gig port in the VLAN configuration. My plan was to connect the 2.5G lan from opnsense to the multi gig port on the Netgear which then passes through the vlan tags to other ports/wifi. Will this still work?
Attaching a screenshot of how I was going to set this up.

No Netgear consumer devices come with any kind of VLAN support on the LAN side.
The config you are referring is for bridging an ISP Internet connection which can be tagged e.g. for the Internet IP side, or for some exceptions an IPTV VLAN on the WAN side, which can be bridged to one or some selected LAN ports to connect an IPTV Set--top box, alternately to a selected Wi-Fi adapter (==interface).
These features are intended for a specific usage only, in no aspect to define a Multi VLAN config for the LAN side.
- sqpstarAspirantThanks very much for the clarification. I am not looking for the tags to be passed through to the lan. Only expecting untagged traffic in the set vlan on the Internet side. Will this work?
Only for the case your ISP does require tagging for the internet connection, or for the special case where IPTV is offered on a dedicated VLAN. Like I said, these are not generally available as universal VLAN support. Nothing for your security appliance....
