Backup "Distant"

  • I used a French translator so hopefully I can comment correctly.

Unfortunately, Egnyte does not support Duo and NV+.
But if you are looking for remote file backup, try Egnyte (Personal Local Cloud). It supports direct file upload and FTP.

I hope that helps, sorry I don't speak French :?

    Thanks.
Yes, Egnyte is the best, but it's only for x86 NAS, not for my Duo
  • Thanks jplaville.

One solution that might work is to use Egnyte (Personal Local Cloud) on your main computer and point the local cloud folder to the Duo. The drawback of this approach is that your main computer needs to be on when the Duo is syncing files.

If you want to give this approach a try, just message me and I can set you up with a free 30 day account to play around with :)

    Cheers!

    Hi Johnny,

Can we setup a FTP or SFTP backup from the NAS to your "personal local cloud"?
  • Hi jonjonoo, yes you can setup FTP to backup files to Egnyte Cloud File Server.
But if you have Egnyte on your ReadyNAS your files are already synced between the NAS and the cloud. So you will automatically have two copies of your files: on your NAS device and in your Egnyte cloud account. There is no real need for FTP to upload files unless it's a very big file.

I hope that answers your question (in English) :)

    Johnny,

This post is about Duo. Duo is a Sparc processor, and you don't support addon Sparc system, therefore FTP is a good workaround. OK that you promote Egnyte but keep realistic with the post. Thanks
Merci
  • Hi jonjonoo, my mistake, I thought you were talking about NAS in general, not Duo specifically.
Yes you are correct, FTP can be used in this case to transfer files from the Duo to Egnyte cloud. Although the transfer has to be done manually and will not be automatic since it is a Duo.
