5Ghz Channel no longer Auto

Went into the Wireless Setup, then Wireless Network (5 Ghz) and changed the Channel from Auto to something else - just playing around really.  Now I can't go back to Auto.  The option is no longer there.  Any ideas how to get back to Auto Channel in 5Ghz, short of resetting the Router/Modem?

    Hello gmhelsel

Did you change any other settings like the modem region or anything? Also did you try another web browser?

Didn't change region,  have tried IE, Edge, Chrome and Firefox.  Same result with them all.  I will say that now the channel selected in the drop-down is 116, but right next to that drop down, it indicates "Current 149".  That is also consistent regardless of which browser I use.

I've also tried the Netgear Genie App on my iPhone, as well as my Win 10 machine.

So, I don't know what's going on at all...

can you please post the screenshots of following?

        1. screenshot of wifi config page.

        2. Your ISP

        3. your backup config file (you can PM me).

        4. your FW version

  • No solution. I reset to factory settings using Genie, as well as with the reset button. Still not auto on 5Ghz. I haven't tried, at least that I recall, a different web browser. I'll give it a shot tonight and see what happens.
