AC1200 no ethernet/internet connection

After plugging in all wires (ethernet) on my desk top, and trying all 4 ports on back, I do not get service! Internet connectivity symbol, cycles between yellow triangle, and red X. diagnosing says no cable connected. at wits end, thinking of returning! But Daughter does get wireless service. aiiiggghhh!

    Have you tried to factory reset the unit? also have you tried another cord?
