Model Number: c7100v Firmware: V2.01.33 OS: Mac High Sierra v10.13.3 Hi guys. I purchased the Nighthawk c7100v dual modem/router so I could stop paying the rental fee through comcast, and it works with the triple play that we have. We have a one story, 4 bedroom home and I've never had an issue with coverage or speed with comcast's Arris dual modem/router that we used for years. My speeds using comcast equipment were 150 Mbps down/5 mbps up. Nothing special, but it does the trick. I installed the Nighthawk, called comcast and activated it, checked connectivity and it was working fine. Very similar speeds using the speedtest.net. That was March 17th, last Saturday. On Sunday, March 18th, I noticed the internet was lagging quite a bit. I checked speedtest and it ran a 6 mbps download/5 mbps upload. I restarted the Nighthawk and tried again, but same result. I am lucky to get 10mbps. I'm not using another router, the placement of the Nighthawk is above anything else, not being blocked by metal or a wall, it's in the living room out in the open. I called comcast and they are sending a technician, but I'd like to try and fix it myself in case it's something you guys can help me with. I was having troubles with the WiFi so I hard reset my router and now the internet is just gone, the routers lights a lit White like normal but there is no WiFi, I have unplugged the router and the modem but nothing works also if I connect my phone to the WiFi, which isn't working, and go on the nether genie app it will pull up all the information as if I have internet but I don't please help.523Views0likes1CommentI need help!
I don't know what board to select or where to start, so first off I apologize! I need a Netgear wifi modem that's compatible with time warner spectrum. The "compatible models" are: C6250, C3000-100NAS, C3000v2, C3700-100NAS, C3700v2, C6300, C700-100NAS, and N450 CG3000Dv2. I don't know what any of those mean! After plugging in all wires (ethernet) on my desk top, and trying all 4 ports on back, I do not get service! Internet connectivity symbol, cycles between yellow triangle, and red X. diagnosing says no cable connected. at wits end, thinking of returning! Normally, I have an issue setting up a new ip camera, because the router blocks the new ip address immediately. When the router blocks it I am unable to see the ip address at all, not even in the blocked attached devices. With the other cameras I have setup I was given the mac address (located on the camera or manual) and able to manually add it to LAN. This camera I do not have access to the mac address without being connected to it. Since my router is not even showing it attached (not even in blocked attached devices) I am at a loss of what to do. TWC is saying that I have used 693+ GB this month (9/1 to 9/20) compaired to 308 for the previous month. How the heck do I convert the data reported in the traffic meter and is there a report with more detail by device available? Do you think that this is inclusive of LAN traffic? Suddenly stopped working I reset both the small on off button and the tiny pin push button. I unplugged for the day and plugged in again. I DO NOT have any wires that will connect my MACbook (os is mountai lion i think) to the router to test. The olny lights that work are the left 2 white lights. Both the 5 GHz and 2 GHz lights do not light up any longer. Of course the 90 free phone service is up. I purchased the CM400 modem and a Netgear router last week for my new apartment. I set everything up as instructed, and called Comcast to activate my service and add the modem to my account. They said everything went fine, but it wouldn't connect to the internet. The power and internet lights are lit up green, and the down stream, up stream, and ethernet lights are all amber. No matter what I do, powering it off, switching outlets, anything, the lights never change. They all come on instantly once the modem is plugged in. Comcast thinks it might be the coax wall hook up, but I don't think they are correct, since as I said, whenever I unplug things from the ports, nothing changes. Whether the ethernet cord is plugged in or not, it's always amber. Please help me solve this issue. I have a chromebook, which has no ethernet port, so I have no way to directly connect to the modem.
