May not be supporting of Linux connections.
MIght check with Linux Mint support resources first to see if there is something similar to Windows/MAC path that could be used. Other wise NG isn't supporting of Linux if it's not mentioned in the user manual.
Also the C7000 gateway modem is EoL. Something you might do is to configure it for modem only use then connect up a external router that does have Linux support with USB connected drives.

It should work fine, but you do need to make sure that you account for the fact that the router is using SMB 1.
