C3000 cable modem/router lost Wi-Fi password, requiring reboot
Recently my 9 months old C3000 modem/router would unpredictably drop Wi-Fi connections to all connected devices, multiple times a week. The modem part seems fine since the wired Ethernet still work...

Issue is still open. Netgear Support insisted that I purchased a support contract to fix what they believed was a configuration/firmware issue, and then told me to change Wi-Fi password. That 'fix lasted only one day, as two Wi-Fi authentification failures occured the following week. The temporary 'fix' had similar effect as hard reset or warm reset. When W-Fi authentification failure occurs, all device setting and status appear normal on (Netgear genie) Management GUI.
A RMA replacement unit is being sent to me. Hopefully the reliability of this defective unit will be fully analyzed to identify the root cause and corrective actions.

The RMA replacement experienced same problem (Wi-Fi authentification failure) in about 4 days of operation. Instead of resetting the unit, I plugged in a Linksys WRT54GS router to C3000 to get Wi-Fi access. 2nd RMA replacement from Netgear Support should arrive in a couple days.
