C3000 HFC?
My installer wants an HFC MAC, which this unit lacks. It works fine on existing Comcast cable (haven't gone past paywall) but I'm trying to cut cord and go on free condo complex system. What do I tel...

Your installer is asking for the modem's MAC address. He needs it in order to provision the cable system to allow your modem to connect. The MAC address is printed on the label attached to the router.

Sorry, but no, he specifically needs an HFC MAC address (or thinks he does). I'd like some support for the idea that the MAC address of the unit is all he needs. He's reluctant to try it with the MAC address alone. (This is a non-professional volunteer installer for the condo complex and I can't really push him).
