C3000 No wifi

I bought a C3000 a couple days ago and am having issues getting it to work. When i connect an ethernet cord it works just fine but i cannot get it to connect to wifi.

The wifi light is flashing green, the same as the 2,4ghz light. When i try to connect with my laptop it connects to the network with no internet access. When i try to login with my chromebook i get an error saying dhcp lookup fail. When i try to connect with my phone i tries to obtain IP address but never connects and restarts trying to connect.

If i try to login to the router, by either going to routerlogin.net, routerlogin.com, or either of the IP addresses the netgear page loads with an error saying i am not connected to the router WiFi network and i must be connected to WiFi to login to the router, but its connected with a ethernet cord and per the instructions it should work.

I have restarted my computer, the router, and i have factory reset the router all with no luck.

I am not very knowledgable about this stuff so please help

  • Update: it seems to be stuck in bridge mode. If i use the bridge url it will allow me to access the router and i can factory reset it from inside that menu. It will restart and let me access the normal menus but if i go back to admin it will show as being in bridge mode and still will not let me connect.

If i click to go back into router mode it will reboot and will go right back to bridge mode.

I did somehow manage to get my chromebook connected to the wifi, by factory resetting and pulling the ethernet cord before it could reboot. I then tried to login to the router from my chromebook and once again got the error saying i was not connected to WiFi and have to be to login in even though i was logged into WIFi

      Hello xavvax

That is odd even after factory reset it still stays bridged I would double check with your ISP ask for there higher up modem support to make sure something on your account is not causing the modem to revert to this mode because the ISP pushes out the bootfile and the firmware so I am guess after the factory reset it syncs back up with there CMTS and goes back to those settings.
