C3700-100NAS ReadyShare will not turn on hard drive

I am having a problem. I had put a 1 TB hard drive on my C3700 and set it up to be accessed from my computer on my LAN. I am having a problem when I try to access the hard drive I am getting an error saying that the hard drive was not on the network. When I get the message, I check the equipment. The hard drive doesn't seem to be going active when I send the request for it. I pull the hard drive off, and it is all good for local access. When I plug it back in, it works for a little bit, but that's about all. I log into the router, and it doesn't even recognize anything is there. Are there any suggestions, or advice? What did I miss?
