C6220 overheats and stops working until rebooted

Purchased in February 2020, my c6220 cable modem/Wi-Fi gateway has run very hot since I purchased it and it appears to be malfunctioning because of the overheating. I'm being told by telephone technical support that my problem is not a hardware issue and therefore not subject to the one year limited warranty . They are trying to extort money out of me for technical support. I would like to file a claim against the one year hardware warranty . How do I do that?

    Sounds like rubbish.

     

    I'd start the RMA process.
