C6250 2.4gHz band not staying connected
I have Xfinity for internet and use the modem/router combo unit. My 5gHz band works as it should with speeds over 100mbps. The 2.4gHz band flakes in and out of service and speeds barely register on most speed tests I run. Any suggestions? I bought the device last September. Many of my devices will only connect to the 2.4gHz band, so I cannot live with just the 5gHz. Distance from the modem/router makes zero difference. I've unplugged from coax cable and from electrical outlet and reset multiple times. It will work for about 5 minutes then go back to uncooperative state again.

What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?- MJFriAspirant
The 2.4gHz was on channel 11 when I looked yesterday. I couldn't figure out how to change it. Yes, there are multiple other networks nearby, but I don't have access to one of the wifi analyzers I've read about, so I can't see which channels they're using.

There are free analyzers on apple or android pads.
Try changing to channel 1 or 6 thru the modems web page at 192.168.0.1

I set 2.4 to channel 6 and ran the Xfinity Speedtest on my desktop. I got from 0.2 to 0.0
Makes me think the issue is the hardware piece, but I'm trying everything I can do before I go buy another router/modem. If the 5Ghz band is working with zero issues, that means the issue is NOT the internet provider, right?
Yes, there are lots of nearby networks. I'm in a residential neighborhood.
Any other suggestions?
