C6300 5Ghz Not Working
I love this modem and the 16 channel capacity is awesome. I use it for online trading which requires fast and accurate data transfers capable of adjusting bandwith on the fly and my system is on 24/7. This modem is on "beast mode" as far as connectivity and reliability of data transfer.
This seems to be a fairly common issue with this cable modem and its a pity that Netgear has not pushed to get it resolved, or at least provide a good answer. I have browsed all over these forums looking for a good answer that would at least explain why this happens but I can only find a bunch of fingerpointing.
So I have the same issue as many people with the 5Ghz LED light not being on, but it shows green and active in the browser settings for the router. However, the SSID is not being broadcasted and I can't find it with any WiFi detection tool. The 2.4Ghz seems to be very unreliable and everyone in the neighborhood is on those channels so I hate it!
- Factory reset did not help
- Called TWC and on the phone for hours. Has the latest frimware and TWC does not flash "on demand". The updates go out automatically so I can't reflash it.
- Moved modem away from all walls, floors, metals, etc. Which is something I've never had to do in my life with any other modem, but I didi it.
Still does not work!
ISP: Time Warner Cable (TWC)

Update to my modem situation:
Netgear will be replacing the unit since it is still within the 1 yr warranty coverage. The phone support indicated that it is not an item that can be fixed on site and there are no further firmware updates available from my ISP.
