C6300 and NordVPN App on Windows 10 Pro (64 bit) PC
When I wrote to NordVPN tech'l support for steps to do to maximize speeds they replied: "Please search for a setting called "VPN passthrough" or "IPsec passthrogh" and enable it if it is present. Also, try disabling IPv6, disabling DDNS and also try lowering the setting of the router's firewall." So drawing on my vast inexpertness, I thought I pass this bit of wishful thinking to to this board in hope someone out there knows what they're talking about and can help with steps to take. On top of this, I'm not really certain that I've chosen the correct model from the trio of available options. Perhaps the fact I bought it online in 12/'16 would help bring some closure to that as well.

Maybe time to get into a modem unit and then find you a external router which would have better features and options for your VPN needs.
Some older modem router combo units maybe limiting on features they support.
CM series modems are modems only. R, RAX are NGs wifi routers and Orbi RBK systems are wireless MESH based router systems.
