C6300 cable modem router combo connection to switch

Question

I am wanting to connect a switch for Ethernet that was pre wired through my new home and hook it to my c6300 cable
Modem router. Do I just connect one line to my modem then to the switch to make it active?

Yea you should just have to connect a ethernet between the 2 devices and the switch should just work.
