I suspect that you really need to get the C7000 into access point mode. Or put the Askey RAC2V1K into bridge mode.
Unlike most modem/routers, Netgear does not provide detailed instructions on how to achieve either of these. That may mean that it won't work.
As you say, no WAN port on the C7000, which is a giveaway.
