c7000 and readyshare and usb thumb drive

As stated in the topic, I just bought this combo, and it I tried to use a Seagate Expansion 5TB Desktop External Hard Drive USB 3.0 (STEB5000100) and a USB thumb drive. The unit will not detect any of these.

I have tried everything I can think of and I cannot seem to get it to see any device.

Could it be a faulty USB port, if so how does one test it?

Both the HDD and USB flash drive work on my desktop, so I know it's not any of those devices.
