c7000v2 in bridge mode but wifi is still on
Hi there, I have placed my Netgear c7000v2 cable modem / router into bridge mode ie I turned routing functions off. A downstream tp-link router takes over routing and wifi duties. However, even in bridge mode, the c7000 keeps turning wifi back on. Only the 5 Ghz channel, not the 2.4. There is no facility in bridge mode to turn the wifi off or on manually. After a reboot, wifi is off but then turns back on. The problem is that this interferes with the wifi that the TP link provides. There is also a manual wifi off/on button in the front of the device. The manual says to push this button for 2 secs to turn wifi off. I tried 1 sec, 2 secs and 10 secs but it makes no difference. The wifi stays on.
I don't think that should be happening in bridge mode, correct? How can I turn wifi off on the c7000 when in bridge mode?
Thank you so much!

Edit: I noticed that OneMesh was on on my TP-Link router. I turned it off then rebooted the Netgear cable modem and, one hour into it, the wifi stays off. Fingers crossed.

The second LED from the bottom is a combination indicator/switch. To turn off the Wi-Fi radios, press and hold for two seconds before releasing. See attached. If you have not done so, go to the Downloads section above and download the manual.

Do you have unique SSID's configured for both the 2.4 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi bands on your C7000v2?
Do you have any other devices in the home that transmit Wi-Fi signals with the same SSID's?
What client device are you using to determine the C7000v2 Wi-Fi is still transmitting?

I would make contact with NG support and let them know what your seeing. Saw similar issue with a CBR750.
