C7000v2 wireless Internet cannot reach ends of apartment

In our condo apartment, a new Nighthawk cable modem/router cannot produce a wireless Internet 5G signal strong enough to reach the other end.  This is a COMCAST cable environment.  The distance fro one end to the other slightly exceeds 100 feet.  The router does throw an effective signal approximately half that distance.  I disconnected the router, moved it to a coax wall jack at the other end, and essentially the problem was reversed, meaning that it worked perfectly for a similar distance (halfway), but the wireless signal isn't sufficiently strong to be detected by smart TV or cellphones.

There aren't any coax jacks installed in between those points, and I am not permitted to install new wiring of any kind without obtaining an engineering permit from the condo management.

Here's my question:  can I install a second Nighthawk cable modem/router, giving me one at each end, and effectively providing wireless connectivity throughout?  If so, it would seem to provide a solution at considerably less cost than discarding the Nighthawk in favor of a mesh system.

Thanks for any advice you may be able to provide.

You could, but this requires a second contract with COMCAST as this would be a dedicated Internet connection then. That's not what you want to pay for I guess.

The simple consumer type solution would be adding a https://www.netgear.com/home/wifi/range-extenders/extenders for 80211ac something like a EX8000, and position it about half the way between the router and the farest point you like to cover.

If that new, doesn't the seller offer a product return offer? This could simplify the move e.g. to a CBR40 (802.11ac) resp CBR750 (WiFi 6) with the matching satellite(s).

After trying and failing with a variety of extenders, I have bought and installed a Netgear Orbi 6 mesh system, and am now using it in conjunction with my Nighthawk cable modem router, which is running as a modem and bridge to the Orbi mesh system.  The Orbi 6 mesh system, with its two satellites, is functioning perfectly and has completely solved my wireless connectivity problem.  Thank you for taking the time to suggest a solution for me.

Good strategy. If you had a full blown router as a front end, and not the C7000v2 modem-router, I'd try the Orbi in AP mode.

I have an R7800 in front of an Orbi. This gives me more network control than the Orbi.

An alternative to an extender, which is probably the best option, is to Powerline Ethernet which comes in bundles that include an access point in the package.

I suggest that because you might also like to connect a fixed device, such as a smart TV to your modem/router.

The last thing to consider is a one of the Mobile Routers, Hotspots & Modems that are the subject of this section of the community. Expensive and nothing to do with the question you asked.
