Cable Modem Compatibility Issue with XFINITY
I Received a letter from Comcast that my CMD 31t cable modem needed to be replaced to take advantage of greater speeds. I checked on line and their list of acceptable DOCIS 3.0 modems did not include the CDM 31T from netgear. My service with them is for speeds to 150 Mb/s. Netgear specs show my modem to be capable for that speed. My question is; why is this device not on Comcast's list? Comcast gave me the usual run-around and said my modem is not on their list and I should get a new modem. I have no problems with my service speeds and usually get better than 150 Mb/s. Anyone else having this problem? Netgear says this modem is compatible with XFINITY. Comcast says no. Who am I supposed to believe? Be careful before you buy. Make sure your sevice provider supports your purchase. Get it writing.

Hi,
If you dont mind, can you please PM me the copy of the letter (Please remove your private information).
CMD31T is on comcast list but tops off at 105 Mbps on comcast's mydeviceinfo info page.
SOme of the ISPs now require 8x4 modems to take advantage of 150 Mbps tiers.
technically CMD31T can support 130-145 Mbps TCP in real world ( 160 Mbps PHY speed) but it is dificult for operators to deliver that kind of speed over 4 channels.
what kind of subscription do you have?
when did you get your CMD31T?
