I ran a traceroute when the problem occured and it returned stars only. Does this mean it's a problem with the computer? The router is still online and connected to the internet, and I'm able to ping the router from the mac. Firewall turned off also.

It returned stars, even for the first hop? That would signal a problem with the router. Can you post the output? Or PM it to me, if you are concerned about privacy.
Yeah no problem, heres a screenshot of the traceroute and a few other pings, the only ping that worked was the one to the router. It's weird because I can see that the router's connection to the internet is still working perfectly and all other devices aren't having any problem. After turning off the wifi and turning it on again it starts working, but then after a random amount of time it will stop working again.
EDIT: I should also note that this happens on every network I connect to, at home, work, friends house, everywhere.

Hmm, I was just about to conclude that you have a problem with your router but this throws me for a loop. You might want to consider resetting the network settings on your Mac. Google osx reset network and try one of the suggestions. Be sure to back up your data.
Thanks again for your help! I had previously tried resetting the network prefs however it didnt work, also did a clean OS reinstall and that didnt help either D:
