Can't connect to the Internet after isp activation of cable modem cm700
Purchased and installed a new CM700 cable modem. Contacted spectrum and they activated it and said all was good on there end. I tried to access the internet with a LAN cable and it won't connect to to the internet through my computer. They connected me there advanced support people who can ping my modem successfully but I still couldn't connect to the internet . They suspect I got a bad modem so I returned it and will have a new one tomorrow but I am skeptical that the modem was bad has anyone had this happen to them and if so how did you resolve it?

Be sure your PCs networking it set for Auto Obtain IP addressing and the LAN cable between the PC and modem is of good quality. CAT6 recommended.
Try a different wired PC with the modem.
