Can't connect with PPP

I'm tring to connect to a Century Link modem (Zytel1100c) I put the Zytel into Transparency mode then access my netgear and put in the PPP username and P/W but I can't get a connection. Have I missed something?

      The model # (WNDR4500) was not listed in the drop down munu. I was typing the wrong PPP username. I've got it working but I can't seem to get the fast download speeds in 5g with my PC. If I connect the router up without the Zytel modem in Bridge mode the speeds are fine. Is there some setting I have to change in the Netgear to speed up my downloads.
