Hi there,
I turned the modem off, unscrewed the coax, turned the modem on, let if fully boot up, pressed and held the reset button, let it fully boot again, tried to login with another computer using admin password and it would not accept it.
So, I tried the MSO trick and was successful. I went into the interface and clicked on "reset factory settings", rebooted and boom - logged in using admin password.
I see now that there is way to update anything which is all I wanted to check in the first place. So I am done.
Thanks for trying to help.

When many reset a modem, they just click the button. It needs to be pushed and held while the device is powered on.
so do this.
Disconnect the coax from it.
turn the modem on. Let it fully boot.
Push and hold the reset for 7-15 seconds. The lights should flash/blink when you've held it long enough.
Let it boot back up. Don't connect the coax to it.
also try a different browser and PC. Sometimes browsers or cache/cookies cause issues.
See if you can access it. If you can access it when its not connected but can't once the coax is connected, its probably a setting your ISP has enabled.

Hi there,
Thank you for your response.
I did exactly as you said:
- Turned the modem off
- Unscrewed the coax cable
- Turned the modem on and let it fully reboot
- Held the reset button down for 15 seconds
- Let the modem fully reboot
- Used another browser with the cache cleared to try to login
- Tried the admin/password factory default. It wouldn't accept it and displayed the login prompt again
- Tried the password that I had previously set to. It wouldn't accept it and displayed the login prompt again
I have a Linksys router that I have attached to the modem. To eliminate it as a possible factor, I plugged my ethernet cable from my pc directly into the cable modem.
In the meantime, I found this message of a similar problem, but not sure I understand the solution. I think it requires tech support which I no longer have:

Any other ideas?
